When I rebuilt my 1929 B&S no. 2 surface grinder in 1979, I first scraped the ways. I tried it out with the long belt, but was not happy with the surface finish I got. FS: Hardinge Dividing Head + Accessories
There is no TM/UM mill. Hardinge made a TM (toolroom mill), which is a plain horizontal mill (table does not swivel). Advice on cutting and tumbling small shaft key
How big is your chop saw blade? I would not consider using one in the 12 or 14 inch or larger diameter range to cut 1/8" stock. For keeping the cost of the thin fine tooth solid carbide blade down to a reasonable level, I would look at a diameter of 2 to 4 inches. Such blades can be run in... -

You will get minimal burr on 1/8" square annealed O1 steel by using a thin fine tooth solid carbide saw blade. Tumbling should eliminate a tiny burr along with rounding the edges. It is up you and your managers to decide what your equipment and budget can do to get the results wanted at... -

The 1959 US patent in the above link reveals that Rolle was the city (near Geneva) in Switzerland where P. Roch had his home or business. Question about using VFD to reduce motor rpm to spindle speed. Torque/HP
I think it is best to start out with a three phase motor with a lower than normal synchronized speed and possibly a greater than needed HP if you plan to use a VFD.
