The reason for that is that Germany had absolutely 0 regasification facilities until this year (2023) and were physically unable to receive any LNG.
They may have used actual "molecules" from US LNG sources which was injected into the system in other places like Portugal, Spain, Italy or even Poland, but due to cost they wouldn't contract it directly.

That's what happens when you get fat and happy about a cheap and seemingly abundant supply. You grow complacent and when something happens you find yourself up Shit's Creek without a paddle.

You neglect to mention that Germanys government is fully compromised by Moscow funded Greens ........the KGB had the anti nuclear movements,the FSB has the euro greens as its method of weakening Germany...........and given maybe 10 more years ,the greens in overall power and a joinup between the Kremlin and Berlin........the Ukraine war a wakeup call that hopefully has derailed all this.
