alskdjifhg- I just joined and tried to send you a question through private, but it says your mailbox is full. This post reply was the only other way I could think of to let you know.

The drill showed up Sunday. Bit of a cluster fuck to get it moved but its done.

Not quite as nice as I was hoping, but nothing major.

Seem like I got a bad motor starter/contactor for the arm elevation, bad bearing in the spindle motor, worn out spline on headstock input gear, and potentially some bad headstock bearings.

Got the motor torn apart and order those bearings. Once I get those replaced, proably use it as is for a little while then rebuild the headstock.

Working stupid hours at work, so haven't done any work in my shop for a while. Working 7 days a week 12 hr shifts in a machine shop takes alot of the desire to work in my own shop away.

Today moved the drill press a bit out of the way. Not sure if I like that spot, but its easy to move if I don't.

Busy weekend, but productive.

Got most of the way done on modifying and installing the new gantry crane.

Friday a 40' beam and some channel bracing showed up. Brought it into the shop Saturday, welded it together Sunday and got everything ready to raise the legs up install the wheels for the crane.

Now quite sure how I'm going to do that yet, but shouldn't be too hard.

Pictures are failing to upload. Will try later

Used the Miller Big 50 and some 5/32 7018 rod to glue the channel top cap brace to the S18x54.7 beam

Largest PITA was removing the legs from the old beam. They are made out of aluminum, and some asshole decided that countersunk Allen head set screws should hold them in place. They had sized up, and it was a major paid to disassembly. And some threads had to be oversized.
