I was surprised they pushed back so hard, it didn't seem like a big ask from our perspective.
I've been looking as laser engravers with integral vision systems and they can register (some even read) 0.005" deep engraving even after it had been anodized over to help orient the logo marking. That seemed a lot harder than just registering there are/aren't 1" tall 1/8" thick embossed letters on a matte casting.
