I think this somewhat current discussion on Reddit sums it up well.
Like I said, I'm not a pro photographer and I have come to understand and appreciate the extreme difference between what a camera phone can do and what a DSLR does.
My primary gripe is your phone's software post processes your image automatically. Just like multiple Reddit users state- you look back through a bunch of phone pictures you thought were great at the time and realize just how blah and shitty they actually are compared to DSLR pictures. And this is X1000 in imperfect lighting situations and whare you are outside the optimal focal range of the micro phone lens.
I use my phones camera everyday. I use the DSLR when a picture actually needs to be realistic and decent.
