Unfortunately, at the end of February, Jeff Greenblatt (Jeff_G) lost his battle with cancer.

I am helping the family to dispose of his treasures. His desire was for his tools and machines to be restored and used. Some are completely functional, other are projects at various stages of completion.

They will be posted here first. Then, if there is not enough interest, we will post them on other sites.
As agreed with Jeff, if additional tooling is available for a machine, it will be sold after the machine, giving first the machine’s buyer the option of acquiring it.
Except for one, all the machines are located in a garage, near Ellicott City, MD and there is some gear to help with the loading.

Unfortunately, I am away during the week. Therefore, pickups need to be arranged during weekends.

I will update this thread with the links to the threads for each individual tool/machine.

Oh my, Jeff was such a nice chap, really sorry, give my condolences to his family. I have no room for machines right now. Any pieces of metrology?

Paolo,

For those of us who didn't know your friend any chance you could tell about him and who he was?

My apologies, I will be very brief (no much time during the week).
In short, Jeff is the person who got many of us involved as volunteers at Tuckahoe Machineshop Museum.
He had an engineering background. He was first interested in woodworking and expanded his interests to metalworking many years ago. He had a deep love for old tools and machines, but was also down to earth and practical, equipping his workshops with a mix of functional old tools and a few modern ones.

Today My father and I took a trip down to pick up a machine I purchased from Jeff’s estate... I must say it was a pleasure to meet Paolo along with Jeff’s son. You could not ask for nicer guys to deal with... I even made a few extra purchases while there. I couldn’t help but feel a moment of sadness when we arrived ... as you walk through the shop looking at the blood, sweat and tireless effort of a mans collection you can’t help but think this too one day will happen to me ... I just hope there is someone there to help move my stuff along to the proper custodians when I am gone. To anyone interested in any of the remaining machines I would not hesitate to deal with these guys ... they are first class! Thank you Paolo for all of your help today as well as Jeff’s son.

I doubt that a taper attachment from a 14" lathe would fit a 16"... there is a significant difference in size on all parts between a 12" and 14". I would think there would be the same size difference between the 14" and 16".

There was someone parting out a 16" on ebay a while back... if he is still on there, it wouldn't hurt to contact him and ask. Other than that... I'm sorry, I can't help you.

As far as the thread dial, I have read that Hendey would provide one with a new lathe if the customer requested one, but considering that the lathe was designed to cut threads without a dial, I would have to believe there weren't many made. I've never seen one...

You might contact Hendeyman and see if he has the blueprints for the thread dial... your best bet may be to make one if you can get the prints.

Sorry I can't help you more...
