Might have been easier if I got your long chain back to you. Whoops.

Actually wasn’t too bad! My slabs are a little off kilter from one another so overcoming the slight grade changes was really the only struggle.Boy - there was sweatin' goin' on there!

I have the stand it’s just not attached at the moment. From my research I think I am actually missing several pieces, I marked them on this diagram. Not sure how much of a show stopper this will be.Where's the bar feeder stand for the extreme left end ?
it appears that's missing, and the stock tube that swings on a pivot
that's on the top of the stand.
So does the stock tube rotate with the bar that’s being fed or does it just enclose the spinning end? Looks like the chuck (14) clamps the bar, the sled it’s on pulls the stock tube forward with the work enclosed, when you want a new bar you rotate the stock tube out and slide the new bar in? Many of the ones I’ve seen for sale appear to be missing the stock tube for what it’s worthUhm yeah, they are kinda important.
Stock tube could be made from pipe, but the left stand with the eye will be harder to make.
Copy the right stand (28) fabricate the same, and change the top.

The stock tube is stationary, only swings when you undoo the clamp to load new bars, but it mainly swings the front out so you can change the feed fingers. So does the stock tube rotate with the bar that’s being fed or does it just enclose the spinning end? I’ve tried to find a video of a W&S hydraulic bar feed in operation but came up empty handed.
These pictures were from my (company’s) last turret lathe to leave the factory. Good luck with your purchase, looking forward to your progress!View attachment 367677
Found a photo of the lead-on screws from an archived online auction. Looks like there were half nut sections that went along with these as well. I would certainly be interested if somebody has some of these just lying around :-)
That’s very cool! One of the most well tooled examples of a W&S no5 on the internet. I have probably looked at every single historic listing there is. I wonder who bought it…really lucky fella. These pictures were from my (company’s) last turret lathe to leave the factory. Good luck with your purchase, looking forward to your progress!
Okay I’m getting close to spending money on power. Before I do….is it even remotely possible to find two dual speed 5/10hp motors for these beasts in 240v flavor? A RPC that can drive a 20hp motor looks to spec close to 125a at the breaker. Not a show stopper…but id really like to keep it under 100a so I don’t need to re-wire 1/2 my house.
Is there some way to turbo charge a RPC with extra capacitors or something to minimize the starting current? Or is there no way around that whole upsizing of the breaker for surge current thing? Im about as good of an electrician as I am a machinistbut money still looks green so cut me some slack okay?!
I don't understand "240V flavor".
???
Doo you mean "single phase" as opposed to 3phase, so's not to need a convertor?
If so, the convertor only draws heavy at start-up, and you wouldn't have anything else running at that time, so it shouldn't be a real issue. As long as the dryer, the hot water heater, and the A/C are all pulling down the buss at that same time, it shouldn't be a problem.
