Trying to loosen the belt on my BP CNC.

Those are good numbers, now if the small strain of tight belt throws them out what does a tool do? Add a vice to table and system is different. Slotting steel or side cutting bronze, different loads. Drill or plunge and the movement in z gets choppy.
Servos have to be good for all your load variables.
300 ipm on a clone is faster than the iron can handle if you have decent acceleration rates. Acceleration makes more difference in time and quality than rapid max speed.
This laser has 25 percent slower rapids than most, 6x acceleration than almost any other:

300 IPM is a G0 ( no cutting load) so that will be good, most of my cutting will be between F8-F50. The higher of those speeds for aluminum. I always use the lower 40% of a feed rate given by end mill manufacturer and usually when the program is done go back and take another 10% off that. will get the acceleration rates for Z and Y in a few hours.
