Yes it has, but there have been delays in the shipping. I expect to be uncrating in late May now. I am not normally one for a tool gloat, but these machines are quite something. When I was packing the tooling I noticed two pleasant surprises: every head has original factory scraping marks full length and width on the ways. And most of the arbors are still in their thirty year old wax. It was like opening a time capsule.

I wish I had a beater mill to make my first mistakes on.

Hi People,

Mine is a Perrin Bros (Swiss Built) and very similar to a Deckel. They were also marketed as a Christen. It is about 30 years old but as a Toolroom machine, has done very little work. The original scraping marks are still visible on all the slideways.

Voltage; switchable from 250 through to 450 V x 3Ph, Frequency; switchable from 50 to 60 Hz, Taper NT 40.
Accessories include:-
Horizontal table.
Vertical table.
3D table (tilts in all three planes).
Horizontal milling arbors (3).
Vertical milling head.
Horizontal milling with arbor (great for facing the side of a job!).
Enough NT 40 based tooling and adaptors to be able to start a shop.
Original manual with hand written details of maintenance done by first owner.
Original circuit diagrams.
Have all the DRO's to install when I go home for the winter.

Condition of machine: fair (and improving)

simple dividing head fitted with Swiss 3-jaw chuck (collet draw-bar missing),
tailstock fort he dividing head,
standard vertical head, horizontal overarm and mandrel,
high speed head, slotting head, a few W20 collets, shop made ER25 collett chuck on W20
shank.

Comments: This looks to be a very early machine as the earliest manual I have found
on-line is for #14633 delivered in January 1956. The vertical spindle has plain bronze
bearings rather than taper rollers, the y-axis handle is a single lever, not a hand
wheel and the z-axis drive is all above the chip tray. The z-axis dial is labelled '1
turn = .078 ' and '1 div = .002' but the main number labels are engraved as '0.5'
'1.0', '1.5' which makes it look like a rather roughly converted 2mm dial. At first I
thought it must actually be a 2mm leadscrew but the movement per turn is very close to
0.078" not 0.07874... The slotting head does not have the overload safety device
present by 1956.

Does anyone know the actual date of manufacture? Are there any very early manuals
anywhere?
