From what I have seen, Baileigh offers many machines waaay beyond the likes of Jet and the Green Bear...very nice looking automatic band and cold saws just to name a couple. You aren't paying attention and superficially lumping one importer with all the rest.
Automatic Cold Saw | Tungsten Carbide Saw | Baileigh Industrial
I'd rate myself heavily invested with old and/or premier iron; ie, there will
never again be equals of Pacemaker Lathes, Hole Wizard Radial Drills, P&W Jig Bores, or the DeVlieg...
I've run just one Baileigh; Efficient use demanded I make ready for full time, routed pressure and drain of coolant, made long three hole t-nuts, build a column vise cradle, only the quill handle vexed my attention.
Came to appreciate its features; good sized round column, 4MT spindle, electronic variable speed and tach, power feed, stop & reverse for tapping, gear rack table in particular. So much so, moved it from drilling area, to right along side the knee mill for second op work. Hint: geared table and a bubble level, an easy outboard support for long stock!
Light years beyond common import equipment; the 3F's, fit, function, form. Compared to flood of chinesium motorized equipment [lathe shaped objects] I would not spend a dime on, I'll warrant Baileigh worth examining, their line is very broad.
