New (to me) VMC time.

No I was bidding on a VMC that stated it was a vertical machining center with 12,000rpm CAT40 spindle. Which should handle anything I’d ever do. by researching I understood that machines designed for machining electrodes will hold a tighter tolerance, but machine steel or aluminum just fine.

Then they changed the listing to correct that it was not a CAT40. Which got me thinking I may not want it now.
I'm not an auction expert, but can they really just change the thing you bid on and still say your bid is legally binding? It smells like fraud.

The HSK40 is like a BBT30, its good for high speed machining but doesn't have a lot of gauge length capability. If you want to cut with big tools and long gauge lengths, it's not a good choice.

Normally, in the past when a change is made they reset the item amount and notify you that you need to bid again.

This time they just changed it, let us know it changed and our bid stayed, without an option to cancel it. I will give them a call in the morning. I’ll probably just end up going with the nexus 510 or the vx1000. Both had low hours, fairly new, and CAT40, and the service center here said parts will be no issue.

If this is a general purpose machine you should make sure they let you cancel your bid because that won't be a good fit for you.
Then you should stop bidding on machines until you find someone to help you so you don't piss away 30K on something that's not going to help you.
