The U.S. Justice Dept---FBI appear to be invoking the old Iran sanctions it seems(?) along with maybe Russia being involved. The 747 has been sitting 90 days--can't imagine what kind of ramp fees are piling up along with how much cash it will take to make the aircraft current inspection/maintenance wise.

These days, it's all about "fuel burn" and twin engine jets burn less than the beloved 747 with those four huge turbines. Also, air travel capacity has diminished. Most flights I'm on are sparsely populated. Too bad, the 747 is one glorious machine.

The Chinese use. The ski jump launch on their Air raft carrier just like the Russians instead of the catapult style launch of the American carriers.

The Cope Slope- so you can cope with your shitty aircraft and industrial base with your little starter carrier.

Looks like the "End" for 747 production will be delayed until sometime in 2023.

Complex build out no doubt and stuff is gonna happen:
........."this item doesn't seem correct, reach for the shelf to pick up the next one, send the suspect one back for inspection (and/or to vendor)" scenario stops working, when the shelf is empty -- and is actually removed from the hall, the moment you took the last item off." (had read where at least one sub built the components they were contracted for put them in safe storage for delivery to Boeing as needed and then sold off building and ceased business)

That's an awful lot of building space freed up.
Wonder what the plans are.

Boeing is clearly trying to reduce their presence in Puget Sound. They will probably just fill it with surplus tooling for a decade and then sell it off; like they have with all of the other old facilities. Heck maybe they can sublease the space for the 747 and 767 lines to Spirit AeroSystems. Would be amazing to see them building A320 parts in the old Boeing widebody plant... :ack2:
