Good to see them upgrade that, hopefully they can fill it with more than a dozen students... any word and their usual attendance these last few years?
I was there for a couple days about 20 years ago, at the time it was mostly TOS equipment as far as I can remember.
Pretty sure they've long been the only place left for the so called " tool and die " course in Canada.

Great looking trade school.

Oh, new surface grinders, I would check each for over-tightened magnetic chucks. they should not be over 20 lbs (book 12 & 17 but 20 is ok)

This is I'm guessing in the new building south of the 401, looks good inside of it. only about 20 minutes from me. Ive been in the old section of conestoga for a few things and this is one impressive upgrade. Its a big place that most will take tech like classes for carpentry, cabnetry, millwrights, electricians and plumbers. we have them at our workplace offering part time studies 2x a year handing out pamphlets too all the workers interested.

Bump this back to the top. looks like a great trade school, with perhaps 30 lathes. 30 mills, 5 surface grinders, a Tc grinder, a number of Haas CNCs, and more. I would add one non-programable SG, Still, a very nice layout and machine selection.

QT Ox ...Question : what is an SG

a surface grinder

The reason for having one manual surface grinder that is non-programable is because it is likely the students will sometimes be required to use a non-programable surface grinder and so should know the basics of them.

I would wonder if I hired a top trade school graduate who could not run a manual surface grinder.

Not disagreeing, just couldn't put the initials together is all.

Only grinder that I have is a Super 612, and I use it like a cutter grinder for the most part.
Seldom actually "surface" grind with it.

Harig Super 612 would be a good addition for the school IMHO.
