Bobcad Dongle

Some time ago I bought some machines from Atomic Energy Canada in the paper work there was what our computer guy says is the dongle for V23 but no discs. So if I could find the software would this make it work?

If it's the real deal, it should work. I'm not familiar with Bobcad, as far as registering requirements and whatnot. You can contact Bobcad about downloading the software files and give it a try. I wouldn't pay for anything until you verify the dongle is legit.

Depends on the Bobcad licensing agreement. Alot of software licenses are non-transferable. That means that even if you get/buy the dongle from someone you aren't allowed to use the software. (NX is like this)

Great point, I missed who the OP was dealing with.

That being said, if he can get install files he could probably run it without anyone knowing, albeit possibly in violation of a license.

This may be true? I'm no lawyer. But I do know that there are laws that control this if the transfer of ownership happened through the sale of a company.

I have not used Bobcad in a while, but I think even with a dongle when they had them you had to call to register/activate the software. They are on V35 now, so I doubt they would activate a copy of the software that old if you don't have the original purchase agreement for it.

They went away from the dongle after v23, IIRC. Most likely if you have the software you will be fine with the dongle, that's how I remember it.
I'm sure I have the disks, but you are far away.
