  • Hello Bob,

    Hope you can help
    Hi Bob,

Noticed your Fadal knowledge in a recent thread, and I'm new to the machine I'm using right now (well, still new to machining frankly, too), a VMC15 from 1997, and was wondering if you knew a way that I didn't have to touch off every tool? It gets sort of time consuming when I'm using 10-12 for a part. It seems to me as if the machine doesn't actually offset the spindle using the tool length, but instead offsets the spindle from the part itself, instead. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey Bob,
I'm getting confused when people talk to be about this because some of the fadal part suppliers call both the keyboard and the keyboard interface a keyboard. Some will also throw in keypad as the part with the keys on it and then the keyboard for the eletronic interface board. I'm assuming you replaced the keyboard interface first and it didn't fix the problem so you replaced the keyboard (with the keys on it).

Sorry I'm a idiot haha! Just want to make sure I get the same part you did to fix it.

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

    Right part?

    Thanks, Andrew

    Hello Bob,

I was told that you ma be able to help me. I have thread that I have started to get an opinion of which machine to purchase at HELP - Torn between machines! - Practical Machinist - Largest Manufacturing Technology Forum on the Web

One of the machines is a 1998 Fadal VMC15, the model number is 914-15. I would like your opinion on this machine and whether it worth a buy at $14k. The machine has been sitting in a warehouse for about 2 years and is not plugged in but the owner swears that its working. Can you give me some of your thoughts or even the other two contenders:

    - 1985 Kitamura MyCenter-4

    - 1999 Bridgeport VMC1000/22

    Any help much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Shaffin.
Thanks Bob, I did try that already, with same results, My other machine faces it like glass using same program. But I do appreciate your input, Thanks.
