Episode 20: So You Messed Up... What Now?
Making mistakes in a machine shop is normal. The question is: how do you fix them? Ian Sandusky shares his opinion on the matter.
Messing up is part of human nature. No matter what you do or how hard you try to avoid it, you will eventually make a mistake. And it’s ok, as long as you have a way to deal with it.
If you are a machinist or a foreman on the shop floor, your mistake will likely be related to the part you are working on or the machine tool setup. If you are in the management, your mistake might be more directly related to the customers. Regardless, there are some important things to keep in mind in these situations.
From catching mistakes as soon as they happen to avoid hiding them, Ian shares his experience and provides some valuable recommendations.
