Machine Shop Tours: Proteum Machining
We are visiting Proteum Machining, a small job shop located in Tucson, AZ that specializes in prototyping and short-run productions.
Founded in 2015, Proteum Machining is a small machine shop committed to provide the best service possible to its customers. The owners, Dylan Jackson and Brad Dunwell met in school for Machine Tool Technology and soon realized that they shared a negative outlook on the metalworking industry and a desire to do better. As school progressed and their individual skills grew, Brad and Dylan began talking more about how they felt they could serve customers better on their own. In 2015 they found a Kitamura Sparkchanger 1XI locally that fit their needs, and thus Proteum Machining™ was born.
Since then Proteum Machining has grown its customer base into many different sectors, from machining parts of high-performance BMW motorcycle fueling systems to the design and manufacture of assembly fixtures for a leading LED commercial lighting company. With each part, order, and customer we take the time to thoroughly analyze the project and provide accurate quotes and timelines to assure success for all involved.
