OT-super capacitor to help lawnmower start?

I have a 22nd Briggs engine on a craftsman riding LM. These engines are notorious for the compression relief mechanism breaking. I've already replaced the one in my mower and it failed again within a few cuts. Now I am starting it by removing the air cleaner and blocking the intake. With no air to compress it spins right up. I remove my hand and the engine starts. My question is about adding a capacitor to give the starting circuit more amps so that the engine spins up easier. Without some sort of aid the batteries I've tried don't spin up the engine.
Any ideas on if a super capacitor might help?
Thanks start

Maybe, but you might kill the starter faster that way. Is it carbureted? Choke butterfly might could do the trick if it doesn't already have one. Before jacking around trying to add something like a supercapacitor you could just try a battery with higher CCA. They have pretty decent sized ones for diesel tractors. My 23 HP diesel tractor uses a 510 CCA battery IIRC.

I've found 12V starters really kick hard and fast when you hook them up to an 18V lithium ion power tool battery -- it will spin the DC motor 1/3 faster, and they provide pretty good amperage without voltage drop. Your mileage may vary, but easy to test.

My neighbor has that same POS engine, and did the same camshaft repair, to the same end.

I see at the chainsaw shop, decompression valves on a card (hanging behind the counter so they must all use the same one)
Take off the head, and post a pix here, to see if you can drill & tap to add a valve.

Interesting. I'll have to look at that.
Same for the lithium battery "option ".
I've also looked into placing a cable controller for a butterfly in the intake tube but that looks like a PIA on steroids.
These engines suck.
