Roughing Operations on a Mill

November 9, 2020 4:16 pm

Are your roughing operations optimized? Check out how these experienced machinists set up roughing operations on their mills.

Roughing operations are used to remove large quantities of material and to give the workpiece a shape that is as close as possible to the desired final shape. Unlike finishing operations, they are typically done at higher feeds and depths to remove as much material as possible in the minimum time.

To compile this video, we collected clips from some skilled fellow machinists that follow us on our Instagram page.
