Evening All,

I have finally been drawn back into machinery rebuilds for my hobby and would like to spend some time with an experienced pair of hands to guide me.

I have basic knowledge and have scraped in a few little parts of my own but would like to learn correct technique, mapping and scraping for alignment etc.

Are there any classes planned for 2023 in UK or is there somebody willing to give me their time in exchange for money or services to help show me the ropes please?

Many thanks

Colin

Peter and Demon 79 (I think is his handle) can help you. Peter has attended 2 of my scraping classes a few years ago, one in the UK and one in Norway. Demon learned over the internet as did Bruce Allen did rebuilding his Studer, https://www.practicalmachinist.com/forum/threads/studer-rhu-450-from-the-1960s.343863/

Or you can fly to the states and take one of my classes I teach here.
Biax Germany sponsors classes in Austria now too.

Thanks Richard, I be buying your course and will speak to others you mention regarding courses.

Jan did mention some Europe courses when I discussed on YouTube.

Jan could teach classes too. He attended 5 or 6 of my classes. 1 in the USA and 5 in Scandinavia. He has dozens of YouTube shows scraping and rebuilding machines. He has several on UK made Myford Lathe rebuilding.

Thanks Richard, I love his thorough and thoughtful as is so much more humble than he needs to be. Mind you it’s what makes us good as engineers, always seeking self improvement.
