Good day everyone,
I have an old bridgeport 1HP step pulley I believe to be from the 1960's I have been slowly making repairs on. I replaced both lead screws and the nuts and currently have parts in my toolbox and more on the way to completely rebuild the spindle and head. Now for what I have asked of it it thus far it has made me good and useful parts. I know sooner or later I must face the elephant in the room being the table and the ways will need to be brought back to life if I ever want true precision from this machine. As much as I enjoy doing things myself, and the experience gained along the way when tackling something new, I must admit that is probably left to a pro. Would the cost of this be worth it? or would you guys recommend I just learn to compensate for any shortcomings as I get into working with tighter tolerances. I am located 30 minutes north of Sacramento in the Yuba City area. Thanks!
