As to the South Bend 10K lathe for sale by a friend of yours. How long is the bed, is it flame hardened, what is the serial number, and what is the number stamped between the two rear V way on the right rear end of the lathe?
$1500.00 for a lathe that does not look in good condition from it photo is too high a price. What will it take to buy this lathe? Where is it in Geogia as I am in South Carolina near Columbia?

Steve where did you get your 13" from here in GA?Steve: Recieved the nut today,already installed ,backlash now .004 with my new lead screw. Got to start saving my pennies to get the X and Y ways refinished ,Z is not bad at all. Get that done and the old gal will be in near new shape. Got lucky and found a new 6" riser for 1/3 of retail. Just the thing I needed to make good use of my rotab with mounted chuck. Again I can't thank you enough for the nut, I'm in your debt !
