Monarch thumb screw

My Monarch 60 is missing the thumb screw for the cross slide dial. Can someone tell me if the original was steel or something softer and was there anything special about the tip? The thread looks to be 5/16-24 and length about 1.5". The picture in my parts manual is too small for my old eyes. Thanks. Dave

I'm not sure if the thumb screw is the same as a 10EE one, but here's a picture of my disassembled dial. You can see the thumb screw and retaining pin.

Looking at the 1957 Series 61 parts manual at VintageMachinery (link) I think that you're asking about part R12, on page 36. It's called a Stop Screw. Based on the diagram, it appears to be similar to that shown by Jdub and to that on my 1943 round-dial. Here's a photo of mine with some dimensions added:

The design for the 10EE cross-feed dial changed around 1945, with the introduction of the square-dial 10EE. The design of the Stop Screw changed slightly with the redesign. The photo that show both types:
