HLV-H Motor

I have a HLV-H and the feed motor is noisy and probably needs replacement. Hardinge and Baldor do not have any replacements. Any ideas?

Take it apart, might be the bearings, while your at it change the brushes.

Send it to Babin machine, they rebuilt mine a few months ago.

What did you pay? What did they repair?

Cheaper than my time, new brushes bearings, wires and a control rebuild.
4 or 5 hundred maybe.

That sounds like a good price. The last time I inquired about getting a motor rebuilt I was quoted $700! Fortunately I had been parting out a few Hardinge lathes and had a spare.
