I recently bought my first Bridgeport mill. It came with a very old DRO system that was never installed. It is a Tri-onics model 50. It looks like an antique to me. Two questions: Is this worth anything? Also I was looking at the SRA DRO system; would this be a good choice? thanks

If the scales are adaptable, the readout could be replaced with something more current if that is important to you. I use a Touch DRO which I have been surprisingly satisfied with. At first I thought it was hobby shop gimmicky but it is a solid system. Touch DRO is a black box that you plug your scales into. That box communicates via bluetooth to a tablet like a Samsung Galaxy or some other knock off. Just load the app from google play. There are several box options that might work with your scales. There is lots of youtube content now if you are interested.

If they are glass scales and the resolution works for your applications, I would install everything and use it for a while. Then decide, the majority of the time you are just using the numbers. Newer style magnetic scales will take much more abuse, however glass scales still are more accurate.
