Webb/Whacheon (also Mori?) WL-435 Spindle - Rear Thread or Smooth?

I have a 1984 Yr. Model Webb (Whacheon) 17" Lathe and have a question regarding the rear of the Spindle. I believe it has the A1-6 Spindle Nose.

The previous Owner of the Machine looks to have "added" a thick hollow steel Sleeve Adapter to the Rear of the Spindle (It has long Set Screws for helping "center" the end of long parts/tubes, so they don't "whip" while Machining). I was needing to remove the Rear Cover of the Machine to do Maintenance, Greasing, etc., but can't get the Cover off of the Machine, due to the OD of the Sleeve Adapter I have mentioned. I'm "guessing" it was "threaded onto??" the Rear of the Spindle and its pretty tight, so I'm a little nervous about cranking on it with a "break-over" Bar to bust it loose....especially if it may not be threaded, or if so, not knowing if it is a "Right-Hand" or a "Left-Hand" thread on the rear of the Spindle??.......Who knows, maybe its "smooth" and the Sleeve Adapter was just pressed on???....Just don't know what to expect.

Can someone give me some ideas on what is on the rear of the Spindle?....Threaded, LH or RH, or smooth??

Also, if anyone could send me some "photos" of the Rear of the A1-6 Spindle of their Machine, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Harold
