As post states I need a key for the electrical cabinet doors on a 1993 ZL-15m. I am assuming all keys are the same for Mori. I prefer not to cut it off. They shipped the machine with the keys in the locks apparently and these fell out.

I contacted Mori last week and am still waiting to hear back....
I also searched ebay and internet.

Any one with a spare or would mind having one made I will gladly pay.

Thank you

Ermmm.. it's just an electrical cab. On a 1993 machine.. 28 years since new?

Not an exotic "immobilizer" on a half-million-dollar limousine.

Hem's sake.. any locksmith who does office furniture will

A) be able to manipulate it open, no damage to the cabinet.

B) be able to fit a present-day replacement.

C) be able to furnish you all the keys you care to put-by.

Same again, half the ordinary citizens in America.
This isn't a new need.

What are you waiting for? A 28 year Mori-dive into THEIR ancient history on a mere trinket - while an INCOME-EARNING machine has deneid basic access?

Get real!

Well I can easily break the lock. I just am just thinking of keeping the machine original. It is in excellent shape for its age. If I didn't know better I would think this was a new machine. Why destroy something if I can find a way to fix it right.

I was told the keys are the same on all the old Mori Electrical cabinets.

It's likely a standard key, for a standard lock, that's used in millions of other places. If someone can get you a picture of the key, or the identifying markings off one of the locks, it should'nt be hard to get a key sourced or cut. In the mean time, it's very likely an easy rake or a couple swipes with an auto gun. Any half competent or amateur locksmith should be able to open it very easily.

You took the worst decision if you decided to get the key from Mori. Firstly, you will wait a whole decade for a reply from them and then arrange the order. Secondly, don't expect a low price and a fast delivery. I've no idea what's going on with their customer support, but it falls below expectations.
As many members said above, you better hire a professional locksmith who will suggest where to get a new key at a good price. I recommend the locksmith near me sw7 agency that has trained specialists with years of experience.

Any locksmith can open that tumbler type lock in minutes without any damage at all. And likely make a key to fit it the same day. And likely far cheaper than Mori will charge.

This is an old thread.

But just fyi. They sent out a few old keys for free. One of them fit.

Yes a locksmith could open it. I could drill it. I ended up picking the lock so I could work on it till I got the key..
