How to Hand Program a Bushing on a CNC Lathe - PART 2

December 14, 2022 5:25 pm

In this second part of writing a bush program with G-Code, Marc from G-Code Tutor writes a G71 roughing cycle using a subroutine to rapidly remove the excess material.

He writes the section of code block-by-block and explains each G-Code and M-Code and the way he sets out the program. Marc talks about setting the safety line that allows us to stop the program at any point and restart it safely from the beginning of the section. We also look at programming 45-degree chamfers on a CNC lathe and using subroutines to minimize the amount of code we need to write.
