So you run a hot job as a machinist, somehow, you messed something up along the way, and now the boss wants you to come in and rework the parts – and not get paid for it?

We can all agree that no matter how careful you are – every so often, mistakes are going to happen. But what do you do if you made parts that got rejected by the customer, and now your boss or shop owner wants you to rework the parts, and do it all for free without taking your wage? While we like to think these situations shouldn’t exist – unfortunately, this scenario has played out many times over the years – by bosses and shop owners who either don’t know or don’t care, about labor laws.
