lathe tool turret out of sync FANUC 10t control

I was manually indexing the turret on my lathe. A boring bar that was extended out the back caught and kept the turret from rotating. I eventually hit the E-Stop to take pressure off the bar, and removed it. Now the when I call a tool it positions the wrong tool. I call tool 5 but the turret rotates to tool 3, it's always off by 2 tools.

Anyone know how to reset the machine? I'm guessing a parameter needs to be reset.

Thanks

We have a Puma 12L that sometimes loses it's sync. It has a 10TF control.

These are my notes for fixing it:
Do make sure that if the turret indexes when you fire the switch YOU ARE CLEAR!
------------------------------

IF THE PUMA 12L TURRET LOSES IT'S SYNC WITH THE CONTROL.

REMOVE COVER AT BACK OF TURRET
PRESS NC/PC BUTTON (TOP LEFT OF CONTROL PANEL)
PRESS PCPRM SOFT KEY
PRESS COUNTR SOFT KEY

COUNTER 01 IS SHOWING THE TURRET NUMBER THAT THE CONTROL THINKS IS CURRENT.

KEEP CLEAR OF THE TURRET !!!!!!

THERE ARE TWO PROXIMITY SWITCH AT THE BACK OF THE TURRET THAT CAUSES THE COUNTER
TO INCREMENT AS THE TURRET ROTATES. MAYBE ONE COUNTS CLOCKWISE THE OTHER ANTI. NOT SURE.

YOU NEED TO USE A 6" STEEL RULE TO FIRE THE SWITCH UNTIL THE COUNTER MATCHES THE ACTUAL
TURRET POSITION.

How the control keeps track of the turret position is determined by the machine builder, not Fanuc. While use of the PCPRM COUNTR is somewhat common, it is not how all machines work. Best to refer to information from your machine builder or someone with a very similar model from the same builder.

It's a Kitamura MyTurn 30.

I was thinking it was an open loop system that has a parameter somewhere that counts as it rotates. I was hoping the FANUC had a reset method or a specific set of parameters for the turret.

I'll have to take a closer look at it.

you could try this....its for a hardinge but might work

move turret to safe indexing spot
press jog
turn selector to station 1and press index button
see what station it turns to or is at
if the station other than the one you selected appears ....you manually rotate it
press E_STOP BUTTON DOWN
press and hold at same time E-STOP RESET & TURRET INDEX
this UNCLAMPS the turret and raises it
move turret by hand to correct station making sure you line up the coolant nozzle
press and hold same time E-STOP and TURRET INDEX
this will lower the turret back on and clamp....lowers it
turn off machine
turn on
rehome
index to different station and see if it rotates to correct station now...pick different number

hope it works for ya

SOLVED
I got to the counter parameter by using the above method except for removing the turret cover.

Once I verified that the COUNTER 1 parameter was changing with the turret position, I went back and set the PWE (Parameter Write Enable)
to 1 by:

MDI
Press SETTING soft Key once, then SETTING Soft key again
Arrow up once to 8000.0 (PWE)
Press Right arrow to cursor to PWE
Input 1 (Soft Key) alm will light

Then I went back to the PC side by:

PRESS NC/PC BUTTON (TOP LEFT OF CONTROL PANEL)
PRESS PCPRM SOFT KEY
PRESS COUNTR SOFT KEY
cursor over to the far right parameter and set it to whatever the turret position was at (mine was rotated to 1) I used the input key under the FANUC number keypad. (Doing this kept me from having to operate the machine switch behind the turret).

Repeat the procedure to set PWE back to 0.

Hope this helps and thanks for everyone's help.

Hi Deadnuts,
I never realised I could change it directly! I expected to see some soft key appear at the bottom of the screen when I moved the cursor to the tool position, hence buggering about with the prox switches.
I've amended my notes now.
Cheers

Can confirm that our Daewoo Puma 8 with a 10t controller did not work this way. In the PMC, COUNTR 01 did not increment at all. Ended up having to manually rotate the curvic coupling and turret to the right spot to get the job done quick.

The alternative, but lengthy, procedure as provided by the Doosan suport guys can be found here: TC_Hyd Turret Setting after replacement from Ormon to Kwangwoo Encoder for Dooturn 2SP-V5_121 6

Hi Everyone,
We had the same problem. Every time we indexed the turret, the turret would jump 2 tool stations. If we input T0202 it would jump to tool T0404 but the screen would show T0202.

Found the solution to this if you have a Fanuc Oi-TD with servo based turret.

You will have to look for PMC parameters for turret servo. The parameters are
105---
106---

Look for the parameters in the manual. You might need to adjust the number accordingly.
