Hey so I noticed when I activate spindle orient the Chuck moves to position and then makes groaning sound. When I put hand on the Chuck I can feel the vibration. Like the indexer is trying to hold position. But it’s rough. Anyone else with st experience know if this is a normal thing? I shot a video to better explain here

That is most likely the servo motor making that sound. The ST10Y should have a hydraulic assist brake on the main spindle, see if you can activate the C axis and activate the brake. If the vibration persists than it may be something else. It has been a while since I have worked on the newer ST10Ys so I do not know which codes to type in to do this.

no servo motor on the spindle on that machine, it's a single induction motor. i bet that's the belt singing from a bad tune at the factory. ask me know i know.
