Bushing end is tapered.Spindle end outside is threaded and resembles an R-8 upsized about 1.5 times.

I am sure it is obvious to someone
just not me

Thanks!

That's off a Hardinge horizontal mill. The drive end is actually 5C, as the arbor for these machines is bored just like their lathe headstocks.

Mr B,

I do not intend to try to get in front of Ferrous Antiquos on these matters and will not do so, but I need an arbor like this if:
1. You decide to sell it or othewise and the price is right.
2. If Ferrous Antiquos doesn't take it.
3. If there is no one else "in line"

Thanks --- Dan

can anyone ID what this particualr arbor fits - it's C5, has 1.5" diameter short arbor and then a hole in the front to hold a 3/8" something or other - the threaded rings in the first photo have nothing to do with the arbor - it is very nicely made, the 1.5 inch diameter seems large for Hardinge but what else could it be.... Anyone?
