anybody ever tried or use it. a have a bottle of Mahoneys walnut oil. have a "practice piece" of crabapple that i am soaking it into. never stops soaking in. rubbed a little on a piece of steel and left it under the furnace register overnight. still wet. put a small amount in a bottle cap and added maybe less that 1/2 drop of cobalt drier. rubbed it on the other half of the piece of steel, and after 2 hours it is starting to stiffen up. anyway, i think that i will not be using the walnut oil without a drying agent. any experiences with it??

No experience with it but on a show I saw about craftsmen a spoon maker says he uses a heated mixture of beeswax and coconut oil.

I believe walnut oil always stays a bit "damp", which is ok for salad tongs and the like.

Unlike every other food based oil walnut oil does not go rancid and does dry.
At least that's I've learned from internet research.
And no, I don't believe everything I read.
