I have a KO Lee B6060 with way wear
I placed a precision straight edge on the table, and I see a ~ -.0025 indication for the first 10" of travel, after that the last 10" travel looks pretty flat.
I am looking into having the ways ground, but I wonder if I went with larger balls if this might work..
Thanks for your reply.

Going with large balls can work on many machines, they have to intersect above the wear to the ball way racks...but the opening to allow grits in is increased.
Ko Lee had better than normal protection to the balls, still to be considered.

Cincinnati told us that about .035 was about the limit to grind because of heat treat depth.

Thanks for your reply. I also thought about 180'ing the v-ways, snice the wear is mostly first half, where I might use it most.. Maybe I will try this as an experiment first. Awaiting quote on grinding. The spindle is super quiet and the hydraulics work fine on this machine. I wonder what size larger balls to try...

We would send out the Cincinnati #2 TC grinder V ball ways to have the V reground and install a shim under to restore height. Having a V and a flat the amount you take/grind varies so best to trig/draw it to know your target amount. grinding is pretty simple with dressing the angle on a wheel ..and being sure to not burn the surface. After the work regrinding the chuck is common.
