    Into level EDM for gunsmithing

Señior plastikdreams, I too find myself pondering the new guy's inquiry. Can a good, basic wire edm set up be obtained for $15k? Like the haas TM2 of wire machines. A basic 2 axis machine but with an automatic wire threading feature and maybe a few extras. What costs are associated with...

OT: 500 megawatt compressed air power storage

Annnd burning wood, driving cars, flushing toilets, eating meat, owning property, reproducing... C'mon kid, you're not really one of those Agenda 2030, fourth industrial revolution, climate cult nut-jobs are you? I'm not insinuating that you are - but you should know that a large number of...

WTS: Cincinnati Arrow 500 spare parts.

Proper bearings for a mill spindle rebuild?

Aww, come on guy... I was very much looking forward to following you on this journey (not sarcasm). We could use some more aggressively enthusiastic members around here. It might help if you gave some more info about the machine you are building, not just the spindle... and definitely share...

What is you shop's overhead increase in the last year?

I think you make a fair point about industry comparison, I think about that myself from time to time - Not in the context of raising my shop rate though, because I can't. My garage shop is just not worth $100/hr in NE Ohio. I do work on all of my own vehicles though. I almost never take a...

How will China's new airliner fair?

More importantly; what else are they lying about? Does the Chinese gov lie to their people this much? Or do they just not talk about things they feel people do not need to know? 900,000 people dying in a month sounds like a massive number on it's own. Maybe that's normal when factoring in...

I keep hearing that this winter will be bad for manufacturing in Europe.

I think you misunderstood. That was a quote from Yuval Harari - a very vocal antihumanist adviser for the World Economic Forum. I would never claim that humans are useless or deserve to be "replaced" by anything. I quoted it because it shows the true nature of the self proclaimed "elites" who...

How to Spend $43k on CNC Mill & Lathe Tooling

^^^ This is on my short list. US Solid has a fairly popular unit. https://ussolid.com/u-s-solid-15-kw-high-frequency-induction-heater-30-80-khz-220v-or-110v.html

I keep hearing that this winter will be bad for manufacturing in Europe.

Right now, over 2500 of the world's elite are gathered in Davos, Switzerland; enjoying the finer things in life whilst conferring with one another upon how they will continue to transition our world into their own private paradise. Make no mistake... The future of "Manufacturing in America and...

1 Ton Long Wheelbase Dually Flatbed Pickup vs Machine Height/Size/Weight

Well, you've certainly got more skin in the game than I do. You have a build thread for this super duper duty?

    Automotive machining question…

^^^this. My 95' wrangler got a small hole in the stainless return line a few years back. I couldn't find a replacement so I split a piece of hose and clamped it with 4 hose clamps. It has not leaked since.

I keep hearing that this winter will be bad for manufacturing in Europe.

This is exactly why they continue to spend so recklessly. There should have been multiple market corrections of varying degrees over the last 50 years. A crash is a natural correction, they need to be allowed to happen, "kicking the can" has never worked and literally only makes the situation...

    Partial Shipments

Very interesting. I had never thought about it like that. The $2000 vs $2123 thing is brilliant. Was this something you discovered as a purchasing agent or vendor?

I keep hearing that this winter will be bad for manufacturing in Europe.

It is not meant to describe the demeanor of political figures or a nation's leader. It is a proverb on the cyclical nature of human civilization. Democracy is two wolves and a sheep deciding what's for dinner. There is no team red or team blue. Democratic government is nothing more than a...

"Slavery for thee but not for me!" Forcing your grandkids lose everything you've worked your life to obtain... Yeah, that'll show em'! Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. Weak men create hard times.

    CNC/Manual Machining content creators

https://youtube.com/@Clickspring I am surprised clickspring has not been mentioned yet. @Pistonring12 Hobbymachinist forum is also a really good resource. Those guys are always doing cool projects.

    Looking to move into sales

Nah, don't do that. I saw your other thread, you any good at running machines? If you don't mind 2nd or 3rd shift, I can give you a lead on a great job. $34/hr, 1.5x for Saturdays and 2x for Sundays. You don't have to be a super machinist, just have the capacity to learn, follow directions...

Need THREE Rockstar Machinists for Rocket Engine Components

It all depends on what silly rules the bishop of their community decides to enforce. Old order Amish communities are often super strict while some others are allowed to drive cars so long as the bumpers are painted black. Their women and children are often not allowed to be "friendly" with...

Where can I go to learn Solidworks and Mastercam? Is fusion 360 any good?

That is where I started as well. Mr Callahan has a good set of video tutorials for beginner users. I still fight my way though mcam and solidworks. It's slow and frustrating, I hate it. Watching 20 min videos with a heavy Indian accent voiceover just to discover that what he's doing has...

I keep hearing that this winter will be bad for manufacturing in Europe.

I want to see someone make durable and simple vehicles we can actually buy with cash. Something akin to the old 70's trucks or Bronco / blazer, even CJ7. No leather, GPS, or body sensors. No in dash computer, no wifi, no subscription services, no b.s. Just a nice fuel efficient diesel engine...
