This is another Airco oddball, it uses a double-ganged variac autotransformer for magnetic amplification.

Is it POSSIBLE? Could be.
Have I DONE it? No.

The only assistance I can provide here, is to advise you that this machine is actually running two transformers in what's called 'open delta' configuration, meaning, A-B goes across one primary, and B-C goes across another, there's no primary coil across A-C, and technically, there's no secondary either. For the NON-mag-amp verson of this setup, I know of one guy who asked, and the responses I saw, was that he just dug out the A and C legs, connected them to his 240v mains, and powered it up that way. I have no idea how well it worked out, and I've never heard of anyone trying it with the mag-amp setup, so you're pioneering new trails here.
