100_3653.JPGmember Bob J offered his Cazeneuve HBX 360 for adoption--the previous HBX occupying my stable was never
put in use and I never had opportunity to explore thread cutting feature

so I signed adoption papers and we loaded unit 100_3652.JPG

72 tonne? :skep:
No friggin way....

That's the + side of 2 full semi trucks!

A bolt on kit for your dbl framed stretch tractor and a wet kit and you're in the "heavy side of rigging" business?
Complete with a whopping 1 pair of light duty outriggers!

Rated as 72 tonne /meter .....ie at 6m reach it can lift 12 ton ......actually the modern cranes with computer controll cant be overloaded like the old cranes could...........but the radio remotess are very handy.

Spec says it also has continuous rotation on a slew ball ring.........most truck cranes have around 380deg slew ,with the stop normally over the truck cab ,which can be a nuisance at times..........lift capacity of cranes is also reduced by having long reach ,lots of extension sections are dead weight

What made you get a knuckle-boom instead of a roll-back? Would you mind saying how much it cost to rent the truck?
in past I hired wreckers with twin 10k winches and booms to load lathes--inexpensive and fast--a change in
insurance coverage for towing/wrecking firms now means many providers previously willing to perform non-standard non-automotive lifts decline these categories

so we contacted the company illustrated in pics--his total time including travel for this lift was 4 hours--only 35 minutes at our site--$500.00 usd--- worth every cent:)

The downside of giant cranes like the above,is the end height of boom and hook is such that they cant reach in thru doorways like a smaller crane ..........My first Hiab would only lift 2 ton,but because the end boom had been bent backward in an accident ,could reach in through a doorway at least 6 feet.

$500 is quite reasonable. About 5 years ago I paid $110 for a rollback to come home (only a couple of miles drive for him) and load a 400lb crate onto the bed of my pickup; I had already pushed it out onto the driveway. Very simple lift as the crate was only about 3 feet tall and footprint of about 3.5 feet square.

There was an auction close to me recently where the onsite rigger wanted $600 to do a simple lift and load of a small Harig manual surface grinder. Rigger was already there to do other loading.
